A section is an age defined division within The Scouts.

About Beaver Scouts

Beaver Scouts is the first and youngest section in the Scout Movement for young people aged between 6 and 8 years old.

As a Beaver Scout, your child will join their Beaver Colony in exploring the outdoors, delving into creative crafts, discovering their community, playing games and making friends.

After a few weeks of attending Beavers, your child will be ‘invested’. This is when they promise to do their best and help others.

Scouting opens the eyes of young people to a world of extraordinary possibilities.

About Cub Scouts

Life as a Cub Scout is fun, adventurous and rewarding.

As a Cub Scout, your child will join their Cub Pack on exciting adventures, discovering hidden talents and exploring the world around them.

Cubs is the second section of the Scouting Movement for 8 to 10 ½ year olds.

In this section, excitement and adventure are key.

The Cub Scout Programme offers Cub Scouts a huge variety of activities, indoors and outdoors, allowing them to be creative and get involved in their local communities.

About Scouts

Life as a Scout is an eye-opening adventure.

Scouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.

The Scout section is the third section in the Scout Group, following Beavers and Cubs, for young people aged 10½ to 14 years old.

In their Troops, Scouts make friends with like-minded young people from all walks of life.

Together, they will earn badges and awards by taking part in both indoor and outdoor activities.

About Explorer Scouts

Explorer Scouts experience life-changing opportunities and develop important skills by working towards badges and top awards.

Explorer Scouts is the fourth section in the Scout Movement for those aged between 14 and 18 years old.

In this section, young people enjoy the independence of planning their own incredible adventures with their Explorer Scout Unit.

When an Explorer joins their Explorer Scout Unit, they make a Promise to do their best and to follow the values of Scouting; integrity, respect, care, belief and cooperation.

About Scout Network
